  • Is asbestos hazardous to your health?

    Exposure to asbestos is known to cause asbestosis and various forms of cancer. The symptoms do not typically show up for 20 to 40 years after exposure.

  • Can I remove asbestos myself?

    In some special cases, building owners and homeowners can remove their own asbestos. Ask us how.

  • Are there any programs that assist in paying for asbestos removal?

    Yes. There are presently two entities providing possible assistance for the removal of vermiculite attic insulation. Ask us about how you may qualify.

  • Where can I dispose of asbestos material?

    Asbestos material can only be disposed of at a landfill that has been approved under the DEP division of solid waste regulations.

  • Can I put asbestos roofing or siding material in an open-top dumpster?

    No. It must be properly packaged.

  • Do I have to remove asbestos if it is present?

    No. Asbestos can be maintained if it is in a safe, undamaged condition.

  • Isn't it more dangerous to disturb it than to just leave it alone?

    This is a misconception that is based on the disturbance being caused by an untrained person.

  • Is there a waiting period to have my work done?

    Yes. Except in the case of an emergency, there is a 10-business day waiting period to commence work.

  • Do I have to vacate my home to remove asbestos?

    No, our methods are designed so that you do not have to vacate.

  • Can I clean my own mold from my home?

    Yes, although you risk causing damage if you try to clean a significant mold infestation on your own. Doing so often leads to spreading the spores to other areas.

  • Can my mold return after it has been removed?

    Yes. If you do not correct the initial cause of the mold growth, it is very possible that it will return.

  • Are there any regulations for mold remediation in Massachusetts?

    No, not at the moment.

  • Are companies licensed or certified to perform mold remediation work?

    No. Unfortunately, anyone can claim to be a professional. You must check on a company carefully before you hire them.
